Here at StaxUP, we know our success is due to our wonderful team. The care they give our renters is unparalleled and we want to highlight their milestones along the way. Below is an interview with team member Tony Coronado, who is celebrating his 2-year anniversary with StaxUP.
You can meet Tony at Ballpark Self Storage in San Diego, California.
Colby: What year anniversary are you celebrating?
Tony: It is my second year anniversary.
Colby: What made you apply to the StaxUP in the first place, what stood out to you?
Tony: I was working in retail and restaurants, and I was just looking for something a little more steady and for a change of pace. This was the exact change that I needed.
Colby: So what’s the biggest difference between year one and year two?
Tony: Year two has been pretty good. I learned a lot the first year, so the second year I was able to take on a lot more. When Adam went over to units, I was able to take over the facility and grow a lot more.
“Working with Tony was great. StaxUP picks great people. He’s coachable. He’s quick to adapt. He has matured and actually takes ownership and runs the business the right way management-wise. He’s grown as a property manager so much. He’s a fun guy to work with and he does what it takes to get the job done. He took a lot of stress off of me when we worked together.”

Colby: What would you say is your favorite story of the last year in working there?
Tony: Well, let’s just say this is an interesting facility. We get a lot of characters walking around outside.
Colby: What are some of your favorite hobbies when you aren’t at work?
Tony: I enjoy video games, and watching a lot of soccer. I also like to try out the different breweries in town. My favorite brewery right now is probably Border X Brewery.
Colby: What kind of gaming are you into?
Tony: I play mostly PC games but I play Playstation from time to time
Colby: I actually got a PS3 a few weeks ago. I am way behind.
Tony: You got time to catch up. We will build you a PC eventually.
Colby: So for year two is there anybody you would like to give a shout out to for helping you along the way?
Tony: The person who sticks out for me is Adam for guiding and helping me grow as a team member.
